Warren I. Cohen, professor of history at Michigan State University, is a specialist in American relations with East Asia. He was a Fulbright lecturer in tokyo in 1969-70, and has served as editor of the scholarly quarterly, Diplomatic History. His published work includes The American Revisionists (1967), The Chinese Connection (1978), and Dean Rusk (1980), a critical study of the diplomacy of the American secretary of state in the 1960's. He is also the author of the standard survey of U.S. relations with China, America's Response to China (2nd edition, 1980).
