Abstract

There have always been violent rebellious groups among youth cultures. The current public debate could give the impression that violent rebellion in Western societies nowadays is reserved for the radical islamists. However, there seems to be a growing interest in similar cases of our near past - especially those exposed through books, movies and television productions about RAF and Blekingegadebanden. This report uses in-depth interviews with different individuals who at some point in their lives have participated in politically motivated violence. It goes beyond the political slogans and tries to find alternative explanations to these young people's radical choice of measures for political change.
