This report ties previous assessments with new military and political developments in the region while examining its effect on the evolving relationships between each nation involved with the Korean peninsula. The detailed contents of each chapter consistently reveal just how different the perceptions and values of each side are, and how great the risk is of miscalculation based on different values. The analysis draws on with a range of data taken from US, Japanese, Chinese, Russian, ROK, and DPRK official sources. It supplements these data with material taken from the IISS Military Balance, IHS Jane’s, and other NGOs to provide a range of different trends and current assessments of the forces and issues involved.
