Mark Edmond Clark

Mark Edmond Clark currently serves as the chief consultant for The Strategy Group, a nonprofit organization focusing on peace-building and civil-military relations training in military educational institutions worldwide. Mr. Clark also serves in support of the efforts of the government relations consulting firm, Capitol Hill Consulting Group in Washington, D.C. From 1997 to 2002, worked extensively throughout in the former Yugoslavia. In Bosnia, Mr. Clark worked as an OSCE election official, a Sociology professor, a television commentator, and an adviser to local political officials and business leaders of all ethnic groups. In Serbia and in Montenegro, he has developed, and maintains, extensive contacts with key political parties, as well as the Serbian Orthodox Church. He traveled through Kosovo to observe the activities of Yugoslav security forces prior to Operation ALLIED FORCE. In Macedonia, he maintains contact with political and business leaders of all ethnic groups. As a fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations from September 2000 to June 2001, Mr. Clark completed a study examining how the non-illicit, inter-ethnic and inter-entity business activities of Serb, Croat, and Muslim business leaders could serve to help jump-start social and economic development in Bosnia.

Mr. Clark’s educational background includes: a B.A.-Political Science, Columbia College, Columbia University; an M.A.-US History, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, Columbia University; and a J.D., Georgetown University Law Center. He has published several articles on foreign policy and military affairs in scholarly journals. He is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
