Long-standing authoritarian regimes (dynastic republics) in Tunisia and Egypt have fallen and Libya is in civil war. Peaceful demonstrations in Bahrain and Iran have been met with incumbent regime force, while Morocco, Yemen, Jordan, Djibouti, Iraq, Oman and Algeria all report popular protest.
