The endgame in Afghanistan is likely to be complex and ‘success’ for the Afghans depends on how the future will unfold on many different levels. In a new brief Khalid Aziz, who is a visiting analyst at DIIS, puts forward five essential conditions for a successful transition to a more stable Afghanistan after the departure of foreign troops in 2014.
