Critical Infrastuctures
September 13, Münster, Germany

In early 2000 numerous popular websites like Yahoo, CNN and Amazon.com were hit by so-called Distributed-Denial-of-Service-Attacks. The servers were down for some time and the companies had losses amounting to millions of dollars. Those incidents show the risks of a digitalized society, which relies on the availability on the availability of those information infrastructures. The legal and actual problems of a protection of these critical infrastructures will be discussed by international experts. The conference is jointly organized by the Administrative Law Department of the Insitute for Information, Telecommunications and Media Law and the Federal Authority for Information Technology Security (Bundesamt fuer Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik).
